RAK Porcelain is a sister concern of the RAK ceramics, the world's largest ceramic manufacturer, RAK porcelain is designed to produce high quality tableware for the hotel & hospitality industry as well as for homes all over the world.
RAK porcelain uses only the highest quality raw material imported from the famous mines of UK & Germany to produce the fully vitrified high alumina porcelain.
The mixture of material passes through a ball mill, which transforms it into what is called the slip. and this slip is transformed into granules using spray dryers, which are the biggest in the industry today.
These fine granules form the base for the production of high quality porcelain flatware.
The pug mill is a machine where the slip is transformed into clay masses for the production of cups, mugs and bowls.
Constant quality checks are performed all along the line to ensure the high standards maintained at RAK porcelain.
State of the art machinery from Italy and Germany such as advanced jiggering machines use modern technology to achieve optimum product quality.
Hollow-ware production uses casting methods where again the liquid slip is poured into moulds to produce hollowware products of varying shapes and sizes such as tea pots, creamers etc.
These are then dried and routed to undergo an initial firing process known as biscuit firing. This makes it rigid enough to sustain the automatic glaze application.
High pressure casting technology is used to produce larger format flatware.
RAK Porcelain uses hi-pressure iso static presses for the production of flatware
The granules which we get from the spray dryer at the early stage form the feed material in these presses.
All processes are automated in these modern machines, which ensure consistency of shape and quality.
The green pieces are then routed to the biscuit kiln.
After this firing process the pieces are ready for automatic glaze application.
The quality and method of glazing is the key to producing porcelain with a smooth and consistent surface finish. Combined with other controlled measures, the tableware created possess two vital qualities critical to the hotel and hospitality industry - that is they are high chip resistance and abrasion proof and of course, they are aesthetically appealing.
Needless to say, glaze is totally lead and cadmium free. RAK porcelain products meet the stringent standards such as FDA and proposition 65 as accredited by BVQI (UKAS) from the UK and WCAS from the US.
Following glaze application the pieces are sent to what is called the glost kiln for firing. High firing temperatures ensure that the pieces are fully vitrified making them resistant to, repeated dishwashing cycles. They also become microwave and salamander safe in addition to being thermal shock proof.
In short, the products can be safely used, washed and stored in widely varying temperatures.
Once out of the kiln they move to the foot grinding and sorting departments ready to be packed and shipped across the globe.
Created by outstanding designers like VAVRO and Creativa, RAK porcelain manufactures products to suit widely discerning tastes. Custom designs are also a major focus at the company.
Following the application of decorative designs the pieces are fired again to fuse the decoration into the glaze thus making it resistant to daily use.
Constant quality checks and control are the cornerstones of the manufacturing process.
The quality control department monitors the process at every stage of manufacture.
Designed by leaders in the industry, manufactured by the same group as RAK Ceramics, the world's biggest manufacturer of ceramics today and led by the inspirational philosophy of RAK Porcelain..
RAK Porcelain is set to please the discerning tastes and standards of the
Hotels and hospitality industry as well as the tableware requirements of the world!
